3 of 5 Independence Process Blog for Project 2

Last class, on Tuesday, we had a reading workshop.  Since the previous class did not go as planned, the class had to start over somewhat and talk about each of the three readings (Smith, Gould, King).  After discussing the readings successfully, the professor spoke about the differences between a summary and an analysis.  Since we would be writing an analysis on one of the three readings, the lecture was really helpful to me.  Our first draft paper was due in class on Tuesday and I struggled a little bit when writing it because I was unaware of what an analysis was.  However, after class on Tuesday I felt a million times better about writing my final draft of my paper.  Especially after the reading workshop considering I got some really good feedback.  Since we had to discuss the readings all over again, the writing workshop was only going on for about twenty minutes.  Usually, we would get in groups of about three people and read our papers out loud and get feedback that way.  Unfortunately, because of the time only one other person could read my paper and we did not have time to read each other’s out loud individually.  I am a little bit nervous about the outcome of my analysis, and I hope that I am truly getting the point of an analysis.
