Project 4 LH pg.108 "Identify arguable issues"

1.       The issue on women’s budgets being cut is debatable because it is not a fact.  It is an issue that is being discussed and the governments, along with other people who are with the issue have their viewpoint and then the people who do not agree have their standpoint.
2.       The issue can be explored with something more than pure speculation.  The issue does not ask an impossible question.  It is going to have a complete outcome eventually and people simply just have their opinions on it.  However, in the end the government will have the say.
3.       The issue is more than a matter of pure taste or preference.  The issue is about women’s rights and the issue of expenses.  Some people may say it is a good idea to cut back on peoples pay, however, others do not agree with that decision.  Each side of the issue has supporting evidence.
4.       The issue avoids assumptions that are so deeply or universally held that they cannot be argued.  The issue can be argued because some agree with it and some do not.  A decision has not been confirmed about it yet because the government needs to debate the issue.
